i really pray for good weather on our wedding day, bring on the october sun!

 corbin loved riding on the tractors, judy is so good to him. and jeters well he is trying his best to get up there with corbin!

tater sticks and friendship bread

shannon and i spent some time together before he left for iraq back in october and we went to the blue ridge parkway. i told him i wanted to take him to one of my thinking spots and i wanted us to take in a beautiful view before he left to go overseas AGAIN. i have told him bye 4 times since last june and it never gets easier.

so once we got there we spread this blanket out and took in the rolling rlue ridge mountains and i had tater sticks and friendship bread to snack on from the bluffs restaurant on the parkway! i just wanted to blog these because this was and is special memories for us. i cannot wait til' he is back home with me, his friends and family!

not sure what i will post next but it doesn't take me long to think of things to share with you all!

YES you guessed it! the kids get to run free in a "kid zone" with a bounce house, balloons, face painting, bubbles and lots of food! all for a super low price no kidding. check out par-t-perfect if this interest you for your future shin dig! lets get real most kids like to dance, run around, and be crazy why not give them the freedom they need? plus by the time they get done bouncing, eating and running around all you moms and dads will be so happy!

our wedding reception tables are long rectangular tables that will be placed end to end to create banquet style seating for our guests. two reasons why i like this set up. it utilizes space, they look really nice AND doesn't require as many centerpieces. so below are just some image samples! enjoy these and we can't wait for you to dine with us under a big coutry sky!

Suit VS. Tuxedo

now i have entertained myself at GIF on to suits VS tuxedos! opinions appreciated!

ok i am not a big fan of oversized tuxedos! pleats, tapered leg, baggy in the butt i think not! i like a nice tailored suit, straight leg like "back in the day" pants! i can totally see shannon in either of these! let the shopping around begin!

oooooh i love this tan vest! it comes in black too! shannon would be YUM in this, and i love it when he rolls up his polos *blushing*

then there was wedding cake

ok below are just some random cakes i think are pretty awesome! some fancy, some not so fancy! i am not a big fan of fondant which leads me to another very important factor in choosing a wedding cake. presentation over taste. you can have a beautiful wedding cake without going over the top. who wants to chew through fondant to get to the ooey gooey filling and cake? not i! i have also stumbled upon chocolate wrapped wedding cake! first up is shannons pick and one of my favorites!

anemone [uh-nem-uh-nee] why do i love thee

so here are some anemone images. i seriously love anemones, they're so delicate and pretty. anemones come in many different colors but i am partial to white and ivory with black centers. expect to see lots of these and baby's breath on our big day!

the color choices here are green black and white which is very, very pretty! i like these colors a lot, but i chose a dark teal, golden yellow, ivory and black! most people who get married in october do the fall thing with pumpkins and thats pretty but when i tried to imagine baby's breath and anemones with pumpkins i almost had a wedding fashion NO NO anxiety attack! so, nice dark teal with golden hues of yellow and maybe a little orange paired up with beautiful baby's breath and anemones! i am so excited!

AND the next thing to hit the blog are cake ideas!!! i assure you it will be unique with a touch of Irish!

Cindy Gets Crafty

so baby's breath, anemones, and billy balls (those cute yellow fuzzy) things says southern right? i love love love these flowers and we are trying to keep it simple yet pretty without going over the top. this is a glimpse for what is to come!

so for 30.00 i bought and made our own wedding invitations, oh how dainty they are

in love with the dark teal, it is my favorite

i mean my nails are even painted dark teal!

i am working on addresses right now and i will be working on these shortly and they will be sent out in august! i am no procastinator, as you can tell! lets see it is still 6 months and some few days before the big day!

i hate to wish time away but i am so ready for october 1st to arrive, actually i am more excited for shannon to come home! i miss him so much!

things to do while you are here

asheville has so many things to offer. first and most importantly check out navitat a canopy tour adventure! once again this is something shannon and i done while home for R&R! below are some images from mine and shannons trip up the mountain to navitat and we had to stop at the massive fireplace at the grand bohemian for a pic!

                

go waterfall hopping there are some amazing waterfalls in and around the asheville area. the orange peel is the perfect place to go to get your live music fix. double d's coffee and desserts yes it is a double decker bus that sales coffee and desserts YUM and oh so cute! for those of you in to drama check out the shows playing at the asheville community theatre it is impossible to list everything to do. just find a parking spot in downtown and get out and walk trust me you wil lfind plenty to do. dont be alarmed by all the peddlers, and musicians trying to make a buck! if you come to asheville and you haven't been to the biltmore house and have time please visit biltmore you can also go horse back riding

i would recommend waynesville golf resort and laurel ridge these are in close proximity to the church and many of the hotels and B&Bs i listed in previous post!
