completion

only 2 hours total of TLC and here it is

here is the completed table...i wish i knew the exact name of this type of stand/table! if anyone knows please do tell! i would love to have another one like this so we could use them for end tables in our living room or night stands in our bedroom. i guess the hunt will continue! but now that i am looking for another one chances are i will not get lucky and find one like it.

i love my little lady vase isn't she pretty

side and rear view of the table...like you didn't already know that

LOVE it!

something blue

something for our home
i love DIY (do it yourself) stuff, and i love yard sales of all kinds. upscale yard sales and teeny tiny road side yard sales (sometimes those are the best) this weekend i drove past a little yard sale set up at a local antique shop here in thurmond. i could not put it in my car so i exchanged phone numbers with the kind young lady and told her i would call her to see if she sold it.

so the weekend went by and after getting back in touch with regina (who is a very sweet lady) i took this cute table home with me. i wish i would have taken before pictures. just imagine a drab brown table in need of some TLC.

so i got to work, sanded, primed and paint, then an overnight dry

plenty of storage and tools for the hardware and drawer pulls

i got these glass drawer pulls from lowes 2.37 a piece

obviously i am not done but after a short trip to lowes i will be finished TODAY

i always under estimate how many drawer pulls i need when i do stuff like this. here is the deal, i bought the paint and hardware before i picked up the table. lowes is only a 5 minute trip in to town so stay tuned for the completed table which i will finish TODAY as long as answering emails, finishing up all my editing before i move, ordering albums and wraps for clients, and a photo session this evening to look forward to!

STAY TUNED

claddagh

here is our cake topper!

Dreamy Aisle

i made a short trip to town to stop at a local florist and picked up one bunch of baby's breath and a flower oasis. i came back home and went forth with my floral experiment. i am a DIY-er and here is the result of saving a few bucks and chanel-ing my inner floral designer! i know it is such a simple bunch of flowers but i LOVE babys breath and it is perfection. here are some pics i snapped of the pew marker after i finished! i need 20 of these! it took me maybe 10 minutes to cut the stems and pop them in the oasis and look at the product!

and there you have it! this is going to be so pretty! i made them without the billy buttons since this was just a trial run! i say the trial run was a success!

The Cake

i LOVE chocolate! i also LOVE the color brown but do not discount me for ordinary! brown can be a very exciting color. so the cake below would be the cake shannon and i chose. the marzipan/fondant buttons will be different colors but all in all this is what we chose. it seriously says i am so chocolat-ey and yummy eat me and then go run 5 miles to burn me off! OK its our wedding day surely we can indulge a little...and i know a little boy named corbin who LOVES chocolate just like his mom!

DO NOT come to our wedding counting calories. you will get to choose between trout and tender filets with wine sauce of course, garlic mashed potatoes, yeast rolls with cinnamon butter, wedge salad (which are my favorite salads) and peach salad...if you are wondering what peach salad is it is a gelatin salad but not your typical gelatin salad. ingredients are pecans, crushed pineapple, cream cheese, peach jello, and condensed milk. you simply add all this together and chill...no kidding this stuff is delicious. not to mention shannon and i gave everything a trial run...and we approve so come with an empty stomach.

srimp cocktails

while we are having our pictures made our guests will be able to enjoy some pre dinner goodies! make sure you pass by the sweet table on your way in...no sweets before dinner! mosey over to the horderves table and enjoy some of these shrimp cocktails. my best friend and matron of honor nicole is allergic to shell fish poor thing! she will be skipping the shrimp cocktails.

Until Next Time

shannon and i went to asheville this weekend, specifically to canton and waynesville. we spent a couple of days at the loralie inn where our wedding reception will take place. judy a dear friend of ours welcomed us this weekend, knowing we would not be able to get back up there before the big day. on friday we visited classic event rentals and finished up with reception details. our menu has been selected...we have yet to choose flowers, and the last thing on the list is the wedding cake.

on saturday morning before we left we walked around and measured everything possible to measure. we are very excited!

look at all the trinkets! i love judys home!

 packing up (bitter sweet)

do you love this place or do you love this place?

Going Away Dress {yes or no} and an UPDO

i have had this dress tucked away for quite a while. shannon picked this dress out for me to wear to a friends wedding and in the end i ended up not wearing it. i love love love this dress, and i love that he loves it and chose it for me. i have toyed with the thought of a {going away} dress for a while now. this will be my going away dress IF i decide to do the wedding gown to cocktail dress switcharoo!

today i made a trip to select salons in elkin to see cindy and whitney. whitney and cindy are going to be our makeup and hair extraordinares. whitney did a quick updo today, this was a trial run but i think it is beautiful...she made me a happy customer. i think whitney and cindy already have a game plan. cindy will do hair and whitney will do my hair and everyones makeup. can you tell i am excited?

i seriously cannot get enough of these shoes. so pretty, so vintage kind of cinderella-ish! sometimes i get them out and wipe them down as if dust has gathered on them in the box. maybe i am a perefctionist!

whitney thank you so much for an amazing updo. you totally rocked it!
